Magic

This is the ability to make something magical happen. There are two components

  1. Spells
  2. Runes

Spells

Spells will be basically Yoruba words with a little mutation e.g. water = "omi", and I could turn it to "mio". For spells to work, they need an artefact or a corresponding rune (tattoo on the body).

While spells are usually said out loud, in time, someone can do it by just thinking of those words.

Note, spells may have different effects depending on their intentions.

Arahanf

Reveal, Kenny can use it to reveal his tattoo (sesei)

  1. To uncover something hidden with magic
  2. To blow away a cover, like a wind blow away a paper covering something

Ofeb

Hide

  1. To hide something with magic
  2. To become invisible
  3. To cover something

Ish

Open

  1. To open a door

Denai ish

Open, Kenny would use it to break down the barrier

  1. Break down a door
  2. Break a look
  3. Break a barrier

Runes

This are symbols, tattooed on people. Without a rune on someone's body, they cannot use the corresponding spell. There is a limit to how many runes someone can hold onto, too much can destroy the body. A way to get around this is to use artefacts. There are two types of artefacts

It should be noted that sesei is a rune, the only omni/non-specific runes in existence.

Artefacts

There are two types of artefacts

  1. Specific artefacts: these are artefacts that do just one thing, no need for spells. This is usually created by wraiths with one thing in mind, and integrated with runes.
  2. General artefacts: Can do any magic, just need corresponding spells. This is raw artefacts, usually molded into objects like rings, staffs, wands etc.
